The Bed & Breakfast “MAREA” is in Fondi, it has been a strategical city since antiquity, it is situated a few kilometres from the well-known seaside resort of Sperlonga, Terracina and the newly developed Fondi-beach, Sant’Anastasia.

Instead, if you move out of the urban centre you can find “Villa Cantarano”, near Porta Vescovo, or on Via Appia, “Villa Varroniana” with the walls built in a network style, and on the hillock “Villa Placitelli”.
By car, heading towards Sperlonga, you can find “Lago S. Puoto”, with nearby “Vallaneto Castle”.
Going towards Itri, you will find the “Fort of Sant’Andrea”, linked to the adventures of Fra’ Diavolo.
Near the “Fort” you will find archeological traces of the Old Appia.
Heading towards Monte S. Biagio you can visit the historical “Abbey of San Magno”; at the feet of Mount Arcano you can reach “La Sughereta di San Vito”, fascinating because of its secular trees, or reach the “Lago di Fondi”.
You can enter the naturalistic environment of the “Parco dei Monti Aurunci” and the “Selva demaniale di Sant’Arcangelo” where you will find the Bourbon “Castello delle Querce”.
You can continue on to the Circeo Natural Park, full of the typical Mediterranean flora, and see huge specimens of wild pine, juniper, strawberry trees, oleander.
The Circeo Park offers a wide variety of fauna such as wild boar, roe deer, fox, hares, and migration birds such as cormorant, flamingos, storks.
From “MAREA” you can reach the hilly towns of the South Pontino: Monte San Biagio, Lenola, Pastena, Campodimele, Itri, or the seaside resorts of Terracina, Sperlonga, Formia and Gaeta or go on a day trip to the archipelago pontino.
If you prefer an artistic-religious itinerary you can visit “Santuario del Colle” in Lenola, “Santuario della Civita” in Itri, “Santuario della Rocca” on Mount Arcano, or go to “Santuario della De Libera” in Terracina.

After dinner it is tempting to go for a walk, in the moonlight, in the choreographically illuminated pedestrian precinct, which immediately surrounds you once you leave the Bed & Breakfast “MAREA”.
